Abstract

There are no selective effects of Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+ or Cl− on the binding of antagonists or agonists to muscarinic receptors in rat brain. A decrease in affinity related to ionic strength is found for all these ions. Larger effects were produced by T+, La3+, and some transition metal ions. 1979 British Pharmacological Society
