Abstract
children with Intellectual Disability, physical condition is almost no different from other normal children, as well as with the development of motion and health conditions. But for moderate tunagrahita children, many health and physical problems are constrained by Mosier, Grossman and Dingman, 1965, Barlow, 1978, Patton; 1986 in Delphie (2005: 30) 'that they have impaired developmental motion, abnormal growth rate, sensory impairment especially on vision and hearing perception'. In addition, according to Martasuta (1983: 4), the 'tunagrahita child exhibits a lack of self-image and self-concept, and shows a number below normal in terms of size, strength, coordination, balance, and speed'. Thus, the child's tunagrahita is in dire need of fostering motion activity in an effort to improve motion skills as well as physical fitness. Research method is a scientific way used by researchers to obtain data and collection of research results with a specific purpose and usefulness. The method used in this research is experimental method. Experimental research is a systematic, logical and thorough research in controlling conditions. discussion, there is an increase level of physical fitness of children tunagrahita are aged 12 years and above after being given treatment in the form of pencak silat training for 6 weeks with one week three times the exercise for 20-30 minutes. From the calculation results using Wilcoxon marked rank test, obtained Thit = 0 and T table 0 or T arithmetic 0 ≤ T table 0. This indicates that the practice of pencak silat regularly and directionally has an effect on the level of physical fitness of children tunagrahita being age 12 years up at SKh X Kota Serang.
