Abstract

Six new alkylitaconic acids, designated tensyuic acids A to F, were isolated from the culture broth of Aspergillus niger FKI-2342 by solvent extraction, silica gel column chromatography and HPLC. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis including UV, NMR, and MS. They are all alkylitaconic acid derivatives. Only tesyuic acid C showed moderate antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis. © 2007 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
