Abstract
Introduction: In primary milk production, planning optimization strategies, plays a channeling role for development, improvement of the quality of life of rural inhabitants. The research was carried out with small milk producers, who created the Pamplona Dairy Farmers Association, with the purpose of identifying the factors that influence both positively and negatively the adoption of Good Livestock Practices on their farms. Materials and Methods: The methodology is of a mixed type and used instruments such as surveys and brainstorming with a census sample. Structural, intervening, attitudinal, farm management, sanitary and environmental factors were taken into account. Results and Discussion: Structural factors such as land tenure and public services are favorable, while capitalization is low. Intervening factors, such as education, are scarce, but there is ample empirical knowledge; attitudinal factors, female participation and gen-erational replacement are not favorable, but the degree of isolation is positive. Farm management is not adequate, while, the use of soils and food supplements in lean seasons are a strength. Conclusions: The findings reveal a technical and cultural lag around milk production, compared to large industries, so that among its conclusions it is expressed that, for the adoption of Good Livestock Practic-es, it is necessary to take into account the social, economic and cultural context and based on this, to raise in a participatory and inclusive manner, appropriation strategies gradually and easily complied with.
