Abstract
White-tailed deer are an ancient, very adaptable species ranging from Canada in North America to Peru in South America and from the Atlantic to Pacic coasts (Baker, 1984) (Chapter 1). Across this broad range, whitetails are successful in a wide variety of habitats and climatic regimes. This adaptability requires that the population biology of the species is also exible.
