Abstract

A new cave-dwelling species of pseudoscorpion belonging to the family Neobisiidae - Neobisium ninae n. sp. - is described from the Pećina u Dubokom Potoku Cave in the village of Donje Biševo, near Rožaje in Eastern Montenegro. A diagnosis of the new species is presented. This taxon is a relict and endemic to the area studied. Additionally, some taxonomic and biogeographical traits of the new species are discussed in the light of the evolution of the karst relief of the Balkan Peninsula.
