Abstract

The low-temperature Si(111)-(8×2)-In reconstruction was studied by surface x-ray diffraction. Phase transition was observed on cooling the Si(111)-(4×1)-In reconstruction to temperatures below 100 K and is accompanied by significant structural changes.
