AGRIBISNIS TANAMAN KANGKUNG DARAT DI DESA BULOTALANGI TIMUR KECAMATAN BULANGO TIMUR KABUPATEN BONE BOLANGO

Abstract

An agricultural business enterprise with a profit orientation is known as agribusiness. The application of the concept of developing an integrated agribusiness system appears when an agribusiness system consisting of upstream subsystems, farming/cultivation subsystems, and downstream subsystems is developed in an integrated and harmonious manner. Water spinach plants as an agricultural commodity must have good linkages between the upstream subsystem, farming subsystem , downstream subsystem , and supporting institutions. One of the villages in Bone Bolango Regency that has been recognized as a vegetable village is Bulontalangi Timur Village. This is due to the village's high potential for growing vegetables in the lowlands, particularly ground water spinach. The existence of water spinach plants is able to increase the source of net income for rural farmers to support their family needs due to the potential of the existing land and climate, especially in East Bulotalangi Village. This study aims to determine the agribusiness subsystem in the water spinach agribusiness in Bulotalangi Timur Village, Bulango Sub-District, Bone Bolango Regency. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The samples of this study consisted of 42 water spinach farmers in Bulotalangi Timur Village. Data analysis used is a descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that the production facilities channel subsystem , the farming production subsystem , and the marketing subsystem have been functioning efficiently and profitably. However, the farmers' inability to convert water spinach plants into value-added goods has caused the processing subsystem to perform poorly. Additionally, the supporting institutions have not operated as well as expected by farmers.
