Abstract

On the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence, the chemical structure of foliaspongin, an antiinflammatory active principle of the Okinawan marine sponge Phyllospongia foliascens (PALLAS), was elucidated as a new scalarane-type bishomosesterterpene (3). © 1983, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
