Abstract

This symposium was convened to synthesize recent advances in developing and testing quantitative and qualitative models of territoriality. The goals were to increase the rigor of current models of territoriality, to put field data into a conceptual framework, and to involve a variety of taxa so as to obtain a breadth of perspective not previously available. © 1987 by the American Society of Zoologists.
