Abstract

The present study examines the compressive strength of M40 grade concrete with partial replacement of cement by Flyash and Metakaolin. The cement replaced with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% & 30% of Flyash and 5%, 10%, 15%& 20% of Metakaolin, so as to determine the best proportion, which would give maximum compressive strength. The water- cement ratio was kept at 0.4 for all mixtures. The compressive strength is determined at 7 and 28 days for 150 X 150 X 150 mm size cubes. It is found that compressive strength of concrete is high at 12% and 10% replacement of cement by Flyash and Metakaolin respectively.
