Abstract

A number of biochemical markers of bone remodeling which include bone formation and bone resorption markers are currently in use. They provide clinically useful evidence of the normal and pathological processes that re4ect bone cell activities in the skeleton. Biomarkers of bone remodeling can be used to document the e5ects of therapeutic agents in some patients with bone diseases and possibly reduce the need for frequent bone density testing.
