Abstract
A model of deep ocean circulation consisting of a linear shallow water system of equations representing the baroclinic mode in a transequatorial domain is developed. Forcing by a localized region of deep water production in the north west corner of the basin occurred. Buoyancy mixing and momentum dissipation were represented by damping of the pressure field and Rayleigh friction.
