A prehistoric touchstone from France

Abstract

Attention has recently been drawn to ancient touchstones and their traditional use during historical times (1-3). A recent find in France gives us the opportunity to raise here, more particularly, the question of the probable occurrence of touchstones in prehistoric times in Europe. © 1986 World Gold Council.
