Skeletocutis luteolus sp. nov. from southern and eastern China

Abstract

A new resupinate polypore, Skeletocutis luteolus, is described from southern and eastern China. It is characterized by the resupinate basidiocarps, buffyellow coloured pore surface upon drying, dimitic hyphal structure with encrusted dissepiment edge, fusoid cystidioles, very narrow and allantoid basidiospores. The new species may be confused with Skeletocutis nivea and S. fimbriata by having similar narrow basidiospores, but S. nivea has effused-reflexed basidiocarps and smaller pores, while S. fimbriata has distinct rhizomorph and larger pores.
