Abstract

Collectior.rs of adult chironomids r.vere carried out in Mor.rgolia, Central Asia, located about midr'r'a) betn een Europe and Japan, in August 1995 ar-rd also in August 1996. The specimens urere preserr.ed in 701( ethl'lalcohol, ar.rd individualll- mounted on slides in gum chloral medir-rm after digested in 10!( hot KOH solution and dissected under stereomicroscope. A total of 345 male specimens u.ere studied for species identification. As the results, a total of 42 species belongir.rg to 23 gerrera rvere identified. among s-hich 12 species are considered as belonging to the same one as those alreadl recorded from Europe, and 11 species among them are also ir"r common with those from Japan, and the rest 29 species are described here as nerv species. Three nert'genara rvere created in order to accept 4 neu' species among them
