Abstract
The «Residencia de Estudiantes» did not define a programme of direct action with regard to Latin America, which filled a marginal place in their activities. However some Latin Americans lived in the «Residencia», a group of scientists studied in their laboratories, and some of the institution's intellectuals travelled to several Latin American countries. This type of approachments sowed a little seed in America which, after the Civil War, would yield unexpected fruits.
