Abstract

Obesity is a health problem whose cases are increasing worldwide, including in Indonesia. Obesity can increase the risk of various serious diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and respiratory problems. Obesity is caused by a mismatch between the calorie intake consumed and the number of calories used by the body. Factors that contribute to obesity include unhealthy diet, sedentary lifestyle, genetic factors, and environmental factors. Lack of access to information that is easy to understand and interactive about obesity is a very major problem. This can hinder the dissemination of appropriate knowledge and motivation to change behavior to be healthier. For this reason, it is necessary to develop an innovative and interactive educational information system to overcome this problem. In an effort to overcome this problem, effective education and appropriate socialization about obesity is very important. The aim of this research is to develop an interactive Obesity Education Information System that can convey information about obesity in an effective and fun way, and encourage active participation from users. It is hoped that this system can increase public understanding and awareness of disease risks and provide useful resources for managing and preventing this disease. The method used in developing this system is the waterfall development method. The stages of system development include needs analysis, system design, and implementation. In application development, the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) programming language and Structured Query Language (SQL) database are used to ensure system reliability, security and performance. The result of this research is the development of an interactive Obesity Education Information System. This system provides information about obesity, its causes, related health impacts, as well as steps to prevent and manage it. Interactive features such as quizzes and social support are also provided to increase user engagement. The implication of this study is that the use of an Interactive Obesity Education Information System can provide significant benefits in conveying information and outreach about obesity. It is hoped that this system can be used as an effective educational tool and motivate people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, thereby reducing the incidence of disease and its negative impact on public health.
