Synthesis and characterization of new pyrimidine-based 1,3,4-Oxa(thia) diazoles, 1,2,4-triazoles and 4-thiazolidinones

Abstract

New 1,2,4-triazoles 3a,b, 4a,b, 1,3,4-oxadiazoles 5a,b, 1,3,4-thiadiazoles 6a,b and 4-thiazolidinones 7a,b were synthesized by cyclization of N-substituted 2-[2-(6-methyl-2-morpholinopyrimidin-4-ylthio)acetyl]hydrazinecarbothioamides 2a,b under different conditions. The starting 2a,b were readily obtained by acylation of 2-(6-methyl-2-morpholinopyrimidin-4-ylthio)acetohydrazide (1) with cyclohexyl or phenyl isothiocyanate. All new compounds were characterized by 1H, 13C NMR, IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. © ARKAT USA, Inc.
