Abstract

The article discusses relevant issues in relation with the enlargement ofintelligence's paradigm with have made possible the concept of the emotional intelligence. It is analysed this concept and its principal elements or competencies: emotional conscience, self-control, motivation, empathy and social ability. The development of these competencies is carried through the emotional education which is configured as an educational answer to several social and psychological necessities that exist in current context. The educational guidance is called to take a relevant roll in this process. Several aspects conceming the school and the fatnily as principal educational spaces for emotional education are also commented.
