Abstract

Stable isotopes of hydrogen and oxygen are natural tracers of the water cycle and used in studies of hydrological processes and to establish the source of moisture. This article presents data of snow cover isotope composition Trans Baikal Region from Yakutsk to Lake Baikal. Ulan-Ude was selected as a key area for more detailed study of the snow cover. It is shown that in winter δ18O values of snow in Ulan-Ude reach –39 ‰, which is typical for the inland air masses which came with western migration.
