Analisis Kesalahan Penggunaan Ejaan dalam Menulis Cerita Fabel pada Siswa Kelas VII SMP NU Tebat Jaya

Article history: In today's digital world, the learning process has become easier and more engaging, making the introduction of punctuation and writing more accessible. Thus, in this study, the researcher aims to understand students' comprehension of spelling usage in writing fables. This research aims to analyze spelling errors in writing fables among seventh-grade students at SMP NU Tebat Jaya. A qualitative descriptive method is used to identify and classify the spelling errors found in the students' writings. Data were collected from fables written by the students, then analyzed to identify spelling errors such as the use of capital letters, punctuation, standard words, and word separation. The research findings indicate that the most frequent errors are in the use of capital letters and punctuation. The analysis results show that common spelling errors include improper use of capital letters, incorrect spelling of standard words, and mistakes in punctuation placement. For instance, many students did not use capital letters at the beginning of sentences or for proper nouns, and they often incorrectly combined the prepositions "di" and "ke" with the following words. Additionally, punctuation marks such as commas and periods were often placed incorrectly according to the proper rules of the Indonesian language.
