Abstract
This meta-analysis study examined the overall result of implementing the RME strategy on students in junior high school addressing math problem abilities and detected the size of difference between studies. Based on the search results of the Google Scholar database, 19 articles met the inclusion criteria. The analytical tool makes use of CMA (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis) software, and using the estimated random-effect model, the index of effect size from the Hedges-g equation derived is determined. According to the study's findings, the application's overall effect size was RME on the solution of math problems by pupils abilities was 1.516. It follows that the application of RME has a high influence in terms of mathematics problem-solving abilities pupils in junior high school. Based on the analysis of study variation levels, it was revealed the changes in study year were very different (Qb=46.751; p<0.05), grade level (Qb=20.493; p<0.05), RME class capacity (Qb=35.880; p<0.05), and student demographics (Qb=11.754; p<0.05). It was discovered publication type (Qb=0.003; p>0.05), and technological assistance status (Qb=0.258; p>0.05) did not change the effect size of RME use in math class problem-solving abilities. These results show that RME is more effectively implemented in 2022-2023, in class VIII, the RME class capacity is 31 or more, and is implemented on the island of Sumatra or Java island.
