Abstract

The article discusses the need for revising the doctoral program in instructional systems technology at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The need for the revision centered around some barriers faced by the students of the doctoral program. The revision aimed at graduating scholars for research-oriented positions which would make them leaders in teaching. Education researchers agreed upon an apprenticeship model for the program.
