Abstract
Sclerocypris pardii n. sp. (Crustacea Ostracoda) is described from Somalia. Eucypris rothschildi Daday, 1910 is transferred to Sclerocypris, while Eucypris serratomarginata Kiss, 1960 is considered a juvenile of Sclerocypris multiformis (Kiss, 1960) and is placed in synonymy with the latter species. Sclerocypris sarsi nom. nov. is a new name for S. tuberculata (Sars, 1924) nee (Methuen, 1910). The known African species of Sclerocypris are listed and S. pardii is compared to all of them. A bladder-like organ on the dorsal side of the head, between the antennula and the antenna, is named the Muller-organ. © 1987 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
