Abstract

Experiments were carried out on eleven clonal cultures representing the prasinophycean genera Heteromastix, Spermatozopsis, Monomastix, Pyramimonas, Pedinomonas and Scherffelia to determine the viability after desiccation of any resting stages. Resistance to dry heat was also tested. The results are discussed with reference to natural conditions. © 1970 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
