Herencia, territorio e identidad en la diáspora africana: hacia una etnografía del retorno

Abstract

This paper analyzes the social and cultural expressions (from political ideologies to migrations, from religion to music, from literature to academic work) through which the identities of the African diaspora in America are being constructed. The analysis pays special attention to two of these expressions that at the same time respond to the will of the African-American groups and have caused the creation of African-American spaces in Africa: the Afro-Brazilian return to the Bight of Benin and the African-American heritage tourism to West Africa.En este artículo se analizan las expresiones sociales y culturales (las ideologías políticas y los movimientos de población, las religiones y la música, la literatura y la producción académica) mediante las cuales se han ido construyendo las identidades de la diáspora africana en América. El análisis presta especial atención a dos de estas expresiones que tienen la doble característica de responder a la voluntad de los propios grupos afroamericanos y haber dado como resultado la configuración de espacios afroamericanos en África: el retorno afrobrasileño al golfo de Benín y el turismo patrimonial afroamericano en África occidental.
