Remarkable milestones have marked the journey of diabetes treatment. A monumental shift occurred in 1921 when Frederick Banting and Charles Best’s isolation of insulin heralded a new era in diabetes treatment, vastly enhancing patient longevity and comfort despite the initial discomfort of injections. From the groundbreaking synthesis of the insulin gene to the advent of insulin pens and analogues, each innovation has expanded therapeutic avenues for those affected.
