Multifunctional Agriculture in Plantation as Solution Towards Food Security in National Agriculture Policy 2.0 (NAP 2.0) from the Selected Government Agencies Perspective: Case Study in Pekan Nanas Johor

Abstract

NAP 2.0 is a national policy regarding agriculture that has been devised recently in Malaysia. The policy centred on the issue of food security. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to look into the selected government agency's perspective on establishing multifunctional agriculture in the plantation as a solution to food security issues as presented in NAP 2.0 in the case study area. Qualitative interviews along with semi-structured questions were presented to the selected government agencies. The finding of this study shows that multifunctional agriculture has already been familiarize inside the agriculture industry in plantation areas in Malaysia however, it will require a bit more boost and awareness in terms of environmental factors. Positively, the selected government agencies believe that multifunctional agriculture in plantation areas will be able to become a solution to food security issues as raised in NAP 2.0.
