Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss the design verification process in embedded technology using Continuous Improvement (CI) approach. The proposed approached was derived from PDCA which includes "Plan", "Do", "Check"and "Act". Design verification is an essential step in the development of any product. Also referred to as qualification testing, design verification ensures that the product as designed is the same as the product as intended. It is widely known that signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis plays a very important role to guarantee the reliable system operation of these electronics products. Unfortunately, many electronics design do not complete thorough design qualification resulting in products that do not meet customer expectations and require costly design modifications. The Research and Development (R&D) team would work out in board design and verification before sending it to the mass production. So it is important to produce a good quality product, this can be achieved by using Continuous Process Improvement (CPI). This study review some continuous improvement methodologies that have application in verification process, concentrating on CI to ensure that end product is cost effective, reliable and meets customer satisfaction.
