Abstract

This invention provides a process for the prepn. of I and II as fluorescent probe precursors for detecting histidine. For example, 4-bromo-5-nitro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride was reacted with 1-butylamine to obtain N-butyl-4-bromo-5-nitro-1,8-naphthalimide, followed by reaction with N-BOC-ethylenediamine and 2-aminomethylpyridine to give I. Fluorescent probes I·Cu2+ showed enhanced fluorescence at 537 nm. [on SciFinder(R)]
