Abstract

A historical transition of ADS concept is briefly reviewed. Accordingly, fundamental data request is identified with emphasis of the nuclear data role in the technology development. Research activities relevant to nuclear data are highlighted in light of experimental measurements and theoretical prediction method development, data libraries associated with applicable calculation, and simulation code developments. Focus is placed on assessment of priorities and on evaluations of key data, which have received relatively new attention as concepts changed. A current status of the data adequacy is discussed and summarized from the completeness and accuracy point of view. New projects to step forward for realization of the ADS systems are shown by describing a status of experimental facility design proposed under JAERI-KEK joint project on High Intensity Proton Accelerator. © 2014 Atomic Energy Society of Japan.
