Abstract

We have examined the performance of a magnetometer using a commercial Hall sensor THS118 from TOSHIBA Corporation. Our examination revealed that the reproducibility of the intrinsic Hall voltage is excellent and the lot-to-lot differences are quite small. When the Hall sensor is attached on a sample, the Hall voltage subtracted blank contribution gives almost quantitative magnetization. This "Hall magnetometer" can be used at pressures up to 1.5 GPa and temperatures down to 0.3 K. © 2010 IOP Publishing Ltd.
