Abstract

The application of photovoltaics for water pumping is one solution for environments with high availability of solar irradiation and without the conventional electric power grid benefits. To evaluate and characterize hydraulic pumping activated by photovoltaic solar energy let to indicate of a practical manner what will be the real performance of the system. This survey showed the results of a hydro-energetic evaluation of two systems of pumping using different performance indexes. The systems were directly connected to a microgeneration central of photovoltaic solar energy placed at College of Agronomic Science, UNESP, Botucatu-SP. The performance indexes of each systems was determined according to its electrical and hydraulic characteristics, also the hydro-energetic efficiency of the systems through the distinct levels of manometric charge was verified, regarding the data of tension and current offered by the motor pump. Each system was able to pump three manometric pressures of different repression in a period of five days, the data was stored, processed, and analyzed. Data analysis allowed to obtain the performance indexes and to indicate the mainly characteristics of each system evaluated.
