Abstract

This half-day tutorial provides a practical introduction to Human-Centred Design for information search, access and discovery. We present a concise overview of the fundamental concepts and principles of human information-seeking behaviour and show how to apply these in the design of search user experiences. A key element of the tutorial is the opportunity to practice these skills in a group exercise. © 2011 IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.
