Abstract

Morphologically normal plantland s can be produced with cotyledons pieces from cassava (Manihot esculenta Grantz) seeds at various stages of maturity. Cultured on MS basal medium supplemented with BAP, NAA and GA3, mature seeds give 90 to 95% of viable plantland s, seeds just before maturity 50%. Only 20% of viable plantland s can be obtained from cotyledons pieces of seeds with a pasty content. It is possible with this technique to develop further a rapid propagation of a genotype. © 1984 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
