Abstract
The development of the rolling texture of a low carbon steel was investigated by neutron diffraction calculating three-dimensional orientation distribution functions. The textures consist of two limited fiber axis components A and B centered about (1 bar 1 bar 1) left bracket 1 bar 21 right bracket plus 5 degree and (001) left bracket 1 bar 10 right bracket respectively with an angle of rotation of about 70 degree . For rolling degrees larger than 50% the intensity of the fiber axis component A is being modulated so as to favor the orientation (1 bar 1 bar 2) left bracket 1 bar 10 right bracket . The texture may be considered as inverse to the low concentration brass texture in the sense of interchanging rolling and normal directions. It may be understood in terms of left brace 110 right brace 111 direction - glide and left brace 112 right brace 111 direction - twinning.
