Abstract

The article first discusses various approaches to biblical theology: systematic, historical, and thematic. Then it sketches the main features of a suitable structure for a canonical biblical theology: multi-thematic, correlating the OT and the NT, and dialectical. Finally it proposes four major themes--God's order, servant, people, and way--to be traced through OT and NT following the scheme of proclamation, promise, fulfillment, and consummation.--D.J.H.
