Abstract
The article presents the views of attendees of the inaugural Canadian Social Entrepreneurship Summit in Toronto, Ontario, on which misconceptions hamper businesses that are built for social change. Michel Labbé, president of Options for Homes, referred to social enterprises that are entirely run by people who are not entrepreneurial. According to Tzeporah Berman, co-founder of Forest Ethics, there are misconceptions that social entrepreneurialism is somehow fringe, or too risky.
