Abstract
In the recent years, research in the field of smart villages has focused on various aspects. The concept of smart villages continues to evolve, necessitating continuous updates to this field. This article aims to reveal the most recent dimensions of the smart village concept acted as focus area to develop and to identify information technology trends used. The research methodology combines the snowballing technique and PRISMA Systematic Literature Review (SLR) involving inter-rater reliability. The research then concluded its step by empirical effort, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The result shows that there are 6 dimensions addressed as the main and most recent dimensions of smart villages. The technology used in smart village implementation is dominated by conventional web-based information systems or mobile applications, while the latest technologies such as IoT, AI, machine learning, cloud computing, digital twin, 6G networking, and blockchain remain sparse in smart village research. This research succeeds in providing research agendas and present opportunities for future research in the field of smart villages.
