Abstract

The paper analyzes the two sides of Kierkegaard's concept of anxiety: the subject who suffers from it and that which produces it, in order to show how anxiety is the site of reconciliation between the human and the divine. The existentialist notion of human being facilitates inquiry regarding the links between the human and the concepts of freedom, possibility and election, while the analysis of the cause of anxiety makes it possible to substitute the religious mood of Practice in Christianity for the aesthetic mood of The Concept of Anxiety.
