Abstract

An accurate evaluation of the rate coefficient for the radiative association of He + and H to form HeH + is described. The rate coefficient at 10,000 K is 1 x 10~ 15 cm 3 s-1. The new value leads to an enhanced production of HeH + in astrophysical plasmas.
