Abstract

The teacher is the person who enables individuals to create their own world of information, transfer the values of the society and with great effort raise the founders of the future who will ensure the development of the country. There are many features that a teacher must have while s/he handles the most important part of the society, which is ‘the people'. An ideal teacher should have the features such as effective and enjoyable lessons, valuing students, getting to know students, being democratic and patient, having great knowledge of the field, being good at classroom management, being a reliable leader and guide. Along with the 21st century skills, new elements such as the use of technology effectively and being a model in digital citizenship have been added to the characteristics of the ideal teacher. This study also reveals the ideal teacher model through films. The study is carried out within the framework of document review method. In this study, it is aimed to determine the qualifications of the ideal teacher that is presented in the films mentioned in the study. 50 films which are included in the “Sample Film List” proposed by the Ministry of National Education to teachers within the scope of the Professional Working Period and Prospective Teacher Training Program constitute the sample of the study.
