Abstract

Indwelling arterial catheters can lead to thrombosis and tissue necrosis. The authors recently faced this complication associated with severe pain in a woman with hemorrhagic pancreatitis and shock due to uncontrolled Type V hyperlipoporteinemia. Eventually the forearm had to be amputated.
