Abstract

Bicycle sharing has gained popularity across the world especially in developed countries. Bicycle sharing is a non-polluting and healthy mode of transportation. Compared to motorised mode of transportation, bicycle sharing is seen as a good alternative for the environment. Particularly in urban areas where pollution from vehicles’ emission is a concern. Bicycle sharing is relatively new to Malaysian citizens. Hence, the primary objective of the study is to examine public perceptions towards bicycle sharing. Primary and secondary data was collected and analysed. The findings indicate that the public do not really appreciate the concept of bicycle sharing. Policy can be directed towards supporting bicycle sharing.eISSN: 2398-4287 © 2018. The Authors. Published for AMER ABRA cE-Bs by e-International Publishing House, Ltd., UK.
