Abstract

In this paper we investigate if there is a relationship between incremental information presentation and persuasion, by testing if a robot can persuade a person to perform more tasks than the required ones. We designed a between-subject experiment where the robot Nao would ask the participant to perform a series of tasks. Our results show no significant difference between incremental and non-incremental conditions in Nao's ability to persuade participants, nor in likeability. However, Nao was able to get participants to stay longer than they intended to.
