Abstract
Medical practitioners who care for pregnant patients must be knowledgeable on diabetes mellitus in pregnancy to reduce maternal and fetal morbidity in pregnant diabetic women. Adopting strategies, including preconception and nutritional counseling, supporting active lifestyle modifications, and rapid medical management utilizing the variety of alternatives available are critical, as is the identification of patients with risk factors at the initial stage of therapy.
