Abstract

The publication of Ignacio Arellano's doctoral thesis in 1984 was a milestone in the studies of Quevedo's poetry and xviith century Spanish satire. His theoretical proposal regarding satirical and burlesque in the poetry can also be applied to prose and can contribute to clarifying certain terminological issues and better understanding Francisco de Quevedo's texts of that variety.
