Abstract

The occurrence of an adenoid cystic carcinoma originating from the trachea is reported in a 67 year old female who complained of dyspnea and stridor. The tumor was removed en bloc, without any difficulties, by the transtracheal approach. A review of the literature revealed 23 cases of this tumor reported over the past 28 years in Japan. A statistical review of the clinical features of this tracheal neoplasm is discussed.
