Abstract

Examine the relationship between body size and genetic variability (heterozygosity) in mammals. To test the hypothesis, data were extracted from the available electrophoretic literature using studies that contained estimates of mammalian heterozygosity and that involved 13 or more loci. Finds suggest that we may need to examine the relationships within families or at a lower level of biological organization (population?) to understand the relevance of available data.-from Authors
